Equine Cremations

The Funnell family has a long history in the world of show jumping and eventing with Pippa and William Funnell being well known personalities. So we intimately understand the profound feelings of grief at the loss of a devoted and beloved horse.

equine-cremations-pippaCherry Tree is the ONLY horse crematorium in Kent that carries out the cremations on its own premises, allowing us to look after your horse personally from collection to return.

We are also proud to be recommended by a large number of veterinary surgeons in our local area, who recognize the extra efforts we take to make your friend’s final journey a peaceful, respectful and comforting experience.

horse-cremationsCherry Tree will efficiently work to pre-arranged veterinary time, so that we can accompany your vet or we will arrive later to allow you time alone with your horse to say your final goodbyes. The time of collection is always your decision. We understand that some owners appreciate their horse being removed as quickly as possible to limit upset to other people and animals. We can react quickly to your decision and will help you through the process and ease the stressful situation.

Cherry Tree offer 7 days a week service and are just a phone call away should the need arise.

With horse cremation Cherry Tree offer three options:

Communal cremation

Your horse/pony would be collected and cremated with other pets with no ashes returned

Token ashes returned

Your horse/pony would be collected and cremated with others and a token of the ash from this cremation returned to you in a solid beech casket or scatter basket with a solid brass name plaque engraved with your horse’s name, we Guarantee that a proportion of these ashes will be from your horse.

Individual cremation with all ashes returned

Your horse/pony would be collected and individually cremated with all the ashes returned to you in a wooden casket or wicker scatter basket with brass name plaque engraved with your horse’s name.

You would be welcome to collect your horse’s ashes in person or we are happy to return them to your veterinary surgery.

Ashes are normally ready to come home within seven days.

We can return shoes or mane cuttings as a keepsake for you to treasure.

Whatever your final wishes for your companions, we offer the support and respect we would want for our own pets, feel free to contact us at any time to learn more about our services or arrange to visit.
