Welcome to Cherry Tree, our family-run pet crematorium in the Kent countryside. Animals have always been part of our family life. We know how much they mean to us, and that shapes the way we care for every pet who comes here.
David
David founded Cherry Tree with Sheila in 2000, turning a field into our family home and a place where other families could find care and understanding. His love of animals and attention to the little things have shaped Cherry Tree from the beginning. That same personal care remains at the heart of everything we do.
Joseph
Joseph grew up here at Cherry Tree, surrounded by our family pets, and joined the business in 2015. He now takes on more of the day-to-day running alongside Dad, continuing the kindness he grew up with. From listening to your wishes to creating a personal engraved keepsake, he cares about the small touches that help you remember your companion in your own way.
Pet Cremation
We offer personalised, individual pet cremation, with collection from your home or veterinary practice by arrangement, seven days a week. Our standard turnaround is normally the following working day. Same-day cremation is available as an optional extra for £70.
Equine Cremation
We have owned and cared for horses within our family for many years. We understand intensely the feelings of loss and grief that come hand in hand with the loss of such a magnificent animal. You can rest assured that with Cherry Tree our approach is entirely tailored to your circumstances and environment.

Getting your loved one here
Your beloved pet can be collected either from your Home or Veterinary practice. Alternatively you may wish to bring your pet directly to us at Cherry Tree where you can say your farewells in the privacy of our tranquil reception rooms.

After discussing your wishes and giving you total peace of mind about the service we carry out here at Cherry Tree, we will leave you alone to say your goodbyes – we understand the need for patience and complete privacy during these times.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I need you out of hours?
Monday–Friday: 8:30am–5:30pm. Someone is on call until 8pm each weekday.
Weekend availability: Saturday 9am–5pm and Sunday 10am–4pm.
An additional £58 attendance charge applies after 5:30pm on weekdays, after 12:30pm on Saturdays and throughout Sunday.
Out-of-hours services are limited; memorial jewellery, laser engraving and the return of ashes are not available during emergency attendance. Please call 01233 850929 so we can help.
Can I bring my pet’s ashes home the same day?
Our standard turnaround is normally the following working day. Same-day cremation is an optional extra costing £70, which you can choose when you are with us. This allows us to plan the additional time and give each family our full attention. Our usual cut-off times are 2:30pm Monday–Friday, 2pm Saturday and 1pm Sunday.
Your pet’s ashes are normally ready within two to three hours. Additional keepsakes or preparation may take longer, and we will agree a time for you to return.
If you need a later arrangement, please contact us beforehand. We may be able to help, depending on staff availability. The additional attendance charge applies outside the times shown in our hours information.
Can my pet be individually cremated?
We have invented our own bespoke way of carrying out individual cremation even on smaller pets. Therefore we can safely say that no matter the size, individual cremation is guaranteed. We can carry out individual cremation on anything from a goldfish to a great dane.
Do you run by appointment only?
Yes Cherry Tree Pet Crematorium operates by appointment only, we understand that sometimes this can be a pain, however it allows us to keep open spaces for emergency situations and emergency call outs. This is what helps keep our services peaceful as possible for every one of our clients.
How and when do I need to pay for the cremation?
Payment for our services with regard to horses, must be taken in full, in advance. Payment for our services regarding small pets can be taken in advance, or when you return to collect ashes. We can accept cash, but for the majority we have card machines on site and can take most major credit/debit cards either over the phone or in person.
