I came to you today with my poor little Kitty. We have been together for 16 years and I don’t know how I’ll adjust to life without her. I’m not one for saying much at the time, trying to mask my feelings with a polite smile. But I can tell you now that I was really struggling to say goodbye and to let go. Thank you for treating me gently and kindly and for making such a painful duty run so smoothly. And thank you for the card you gave, the lovely poem makes me cry and smile every time I read it. I’ll never get used to not having her waiting excitedly behind the door every time I come home, or her squeaky fan belt purr as she kneaded my knees, but at least she was treated with every care in her final moments. Thank you again.
